This is what you need to know about serums
WHAT IS A SERUM?
We get quite a lot of questions about serums. What exactly is a serum? Why are these drops so important? How are they used? As a consumer, you can therefore easily get lost in the serum jungle. For us as skin geeks, this presented a fantastic challenge – to create the ultimate serum! The only serum you need - whatever the problem, skin type, age and skin condition. Our result is SUPERFOOD multipurpose vitamin face gel – a serum that is much more than just a serum!
We have collected information based on the most common questions we as doctors and skin care experts get about serums, as well as answers to why our SUPERFOOD is the ultimate serum.
Serum is a concentrated product that contains higher concentrations of active ingredients than are usually found in other types of skin care products. A serum forms the basis of the skin care routine and the purpose of using serum is to intensify the effect and produce results. Serum acts as a catalyst that reinforces the effect of the skin care, and makes the products that are used afterwards more effective.
A serum is usually more watery and lighter in consistency than face creams. The content of fatty substances is usually lower in serum, which means that the product is absorbed quickly and penetrates deeply into the skin.
Typically, serums are developed to solve specific skin conditions over time. It can, for example, reduce hyperpigmentation, reduce wrinkles, add moisture, reduce inflammation and irritation. There is also a type of serum that gives a short-term but immediate firming effect. These are called cinderella serums, and have a quick immediate effect but have not been developed to have an effect over time.
WANT BOTH LONG-TERM EFFECTS AND INSTANT GLOW!
Therefore, our SUPERFOOD has been developed to be a serum that gives you both long-term results and an immediate effect on the skin. SUPERFOOD is packed with active ingredients. We have combined these so that the skin is additionally supplied with a perfect vitamin and antioxidant cocktail, which works through all the layers of the skin. The product has been developed to both have fantastic anti-aging properties with long-term use, but also generally to improve the skin's structure, regardless of which skin condition is to be addressed.
SUPERFOOD acts as an energy boost to the skin, and the skin gets an immediate glow and freshness right after application. The long-term effects speak for themselves - 10 out of 10 test subjects have reduced wrinkle length and depth after 8 weeks of use.
Serums and face creams are designed to have different purposes. As mentioned, a serum is very concentrated and thinner with a lower fat content than a face cream. This means that the serum penetrates quickly and deeply into the skin to exert its effects. But it also means that the serum alone is not able to supply the skin with sufficient fatty acids. Fatty acids are a very important component of the cell membrane, and fatty acids are absolutely essential for optimal cellular function. The supply of the right fatty acids is therefore of great importance in relation to strengthening the skin's barrier function. And this is where day and night creams come in. They have a higher fat content than serum, and are therefore important for strengthening the skin's barrier function and natural defences. By using both serum and face cream, you achieve a completely different effect on, for example, wrinkles. The serum enhances the effect of day and night cream, while the face creams work synergistically with the serum, adding moisture and fatty acids to the skin.
Serum is applied to clean skin and lightly massaged into the skin on the face and neck. The serum is absorbed quickly, and you can therefore apply day or night cream quite immediately. Serums are highly concentrated products and therefore take a long time to use. A pump or a couple of drops is often enough. A tip is also to use serum on the thin skin on the chest. An area that many people often forget.
That's why we believe that SUPERFOOD multipurpose vitamin face gel is the ultimate serum!
Before we started developing SUPERFOOD, the goal was clear. We wanted to create the ultimate serum. The only serum you need - whatever the problem, skin type, age and skin condition. In addition, SUPERFOOD should not only catalyze the effect of day cream or night cream. It should also produce unique effects on its own, i.e. even if SUPERFOOD was the only skin care product used. We have therefore developed SUPERFOOD with action mechanisms that go far beyond the usual serum functions. We therefore call SUPERFOOD a multifunctional gel instead of a serum. In addition to being used as a serum, SUPERFOOD can be used alone on the skin, to add glow and refresh the skin during the day, as an eye gel or on skin that needs a little extra attention.
