HOW DOES IT WORK?
Anti-aging day cream with a high solar factor and broad-spectrum UV protection that increases skin elasticity, skin firmness and reduces wrinkles.
Innovative anti-pollution ingredient CITYSTEM® fights air pollution-related skin damage. CITYSTEM® has been shown to reduce the penetration of pollution particles into skin cells, as well as to activate protective signaling pathways in the cells that reduce DNA damage and oxidative stress. CITYSTEM® neutralizes oxidative stress, activates the skin's own antioxidant systems and strengthens and repairs the epidermis. CITYSTEM® has shown that after 3 months of use, the skin has a smoother appearance and fewer blackheads.
High and broad-spectrum UV protection with SPF30 + UVA-PF gives the skin optimal protection against early aging caused by UVA and UVB rays.

CLINICAL STUDIES
Clinical studies are your and our guarantee that the products' effect and tolerability have been examined and found valid by independent dermatologists. It provides a large degree of certainty that the results are valid.
We do not test on animals
Skin irritation test / Skin tolerability test is a dermatological test for assessing the skin's tolerance for the product. Independent dermatologists examine the test subjects' skin for signs of irritation after application of the product. Dermatologists look for signs of irritation such as redness, swelling, bumps, blisters and skin damage. Based on the results, the product is classified as either non-irritating, slightly irritating, moderately irritating and highly irritating. All products from Dr.Ankerstjerne are classified as non-irritating.
The ANTI-AGE studies are carried out with advanced and recognized measuring instruments that provide objective and quantifiable measurements. Common to the investigations is that the test subjects apply the test product to their face as the only skin care product, twice a day for 8 weeks. Measurements are taken on day 0, and then after 8 weeks. The measurements are assessed by independent dermatologists and the results are obtained by comparing the examinations on day 0 and after 8 weeks.
Tightness and elasticity are biomechanical properties of the skin that are measured using a Cutometer®. Cutometer® is one of the most recognized and used measuring instruments in dermatology for assessing skin tightness and elasticity. The measurement takes place by exposing the skin to the pressure changes while the instrument's optical parts simultaneously measure the skin's ability to move.
Wrinkle length and wrinkle depth can be measured with a Visioline® VL 650 measuring instrument. The measuring principle is based on the skin's relief, and thus wrinkles, being replicated using a material called Silflo®. The wrinkles, which normally go down into the skin, will be raised on the replica like a microscopic "mountain" rising up. With the help of a special camera, the wrinkles are visualized and become measurable, so that with mathematical models you get quantitative measurements of wrinkle parameters such as depth and length of wrinkles.
IMPORTANT INGREDIENTS
URBAN PROTECTION has high and broad-spectrum UV protection. Protects both against UVB rays, which cause the skin to become red, sunburned and tanned, as well as against UVA rays, which penetrate deep into the skin and cause oxidative stress and premature ageing.
CITYSTEM® was awarded the PCHi Fountain award for Outstanding Active Ingredient in 2017. This eco-designed active ingredient protects cells from the penetration of air pollution particles; protects against genetic damage and the generation of harmful oxidative compounds. CITYSTEM® repairs cell metabolism and barrier function, helping the skin to stay healthy. Gives the skin a smoother appearance. After 3 months of application of CITYSTEM® 2%, the number and surface area of blackheads is visibly reduced.
Tocopherol is a naturally occurring form of vitamin E. Vitamin E is an important antioxidant in the skin that counteracts oxidative stress caused by the many environmental, chemical and physical factors that the skin is exposed to every day. Antioxidants in the skin thus counteract the harmful effects of oxidative stress, including premature aging of the skin and pigment damage.
Glycerin has a moisturizing effect and improves the skin's moisture balance and function. Glycerin works by drawing moisture into the top layer of the skin when it is applied. Through its moisture-binding properties, Glycerin can help reduce irritation and improve the skin's elasticity.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
URBAN PROTECTION daycream is suitable for all skin types. It is particularly suitable for combination, normal, dry and adult skin with visible signs of ageing.
Broad-spectrum UV protection means that the product protects against both UVA and UVB rays.
SPF is the same as sun factor, and indicates protection against UVB rays.
SPF is a measure of how long the skin can be exposed to UV rays without turning red, compared to if you were not wearing sunscreen.
SPF is a mathematical formula that is not linear. The number in SPF shows the strength of the sun protective effect. Slightly simplified, you can say that SPF15 protects approx. 93% of UVB rays, SPF30 protects approx. against 97% of UVB rays, while SPF50 protects approx. against 98% of UVB rays.
High sun factor means that a product has either SPF30 or SPF50. The Swedish Cancer Society always recommends using factor 30 or higher.
The sun protective effect decreases over time. You must repeat the application approx. 2 every hour if you stay in the sun. Remember that you must use enough product to achieve the protection indicated on the product. For the face and neck, it is recommended to use cream corresponding to the length of 2 fingers.
UV rays are electromagnetic waves that travel from the sun towards the earth. UV waves are divided according to wavelength. The wavelength has something to say in relation to where in the skin the UV rays hit and therefore which structures in the skin are affected.
UVB rays are what make the skin brown and sunburned. These are strongest in summer and in cloudless weather. Protection against UVB rays is indicated with SPF.
UVA rays are mainly the cause of age-related changes in the skin. The UVA rays are so to speak constant all year round. They penetrate the cloud layer and windows.
UVA protection is indicated with the UVA mark - UVA with a circle around it or with the indication UVA-PF.
The requirements for labeling UV protection are the same for sunscreen and day cream with sun protection. That is is a product marked with SPF30, it must have passed the same tests, and satisfy the same requirements for UV protection, regardless of whether it is a sunscreen or a day cream with sun protection.
Remember that all products with UV protection (both sunscreens and day creams with sun protection) must be applied in sufficient quantity and frequently enough to have the specified UV protection.
Water and sweat reduce the sun protective effect. If you are going to the beach or working out in the sun, you should therefore use a sunscreen that is waterproof instead of a non-waterproof day cream with sun protection factor.
The UVA rays are practically constant all year round, they penetrate the cloud cover and car windscreens. UVA protection is therefore something to think about all year round. We recommend that you use a day cream with broad-spectrum UV protection all year round.
URBAN PROTECTION daycream, like all our products, has been examined in clinical studies and found to be well suited for people with sensitive skin.
Of 75 test subjects, none showed signs of an allergic reaction, irritation, redness or swelling after application of the product
Yes. It is safe to use URBAN PROTECTION daycream when you are pregnant and when you are breastfeeding.
